Slim Adventures (WEIGHT LOSS)

Well... I need and want to lose weight!! This has been a goal of my for a long time. I'm not extreme obese but I'm not satisfied with how I look and feel. Anyone who has tried to lose weight knows that it can be quite the adventure. Diet and exercise are not the easiest things to do. I'd like to compare it to writing a journal. For me, writing a journal at first is very easy. I'm motivated and doing it everyday. Then after a week I miss a day, then two, then 4, then a week, then weeks become months and then the next thing I know it has been a year since I have written in my journal. Lets just hope I can be a little better with this blog. Anyways... My experiences with diet and exercise are about the same as my journal writing. But it needs to change!
I was watching THE BIGGEST LOSER last night and I think it was only the second time I had ever watched it. After seeing how much weight these people had lost I was inspired. I knew it was possible for me to reach my goal weight. At the end of the show I hopped on my laptop and created an account on buddyslim.com. You will be able to read my weight loss blog at http://slimadventures.buddyslim.com

I will keep everyone updated on my weight loss on this blog but a more detailed blog can be read on my buddyslim site. My goal is to lose 70 pounds by the end of August 2008. I know I can do it, especially knowing that I have to write about my experiences and share them with all of you. To everyone who is currently trying to lose weight, keep on keeping on. You can do it! And for those who want to lose weight but just don't think that it's possible, well it is possible. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hell Week (FINALS)

Finals week is approaching but luckily my finals are split between this week and next week. But I still feel like I have no time to prepare myself. Finals week is one of those weeks in life that no one looks forward and no one is really ready for. I don't care what you say, in your head you're thinking "Oh @#$* I'm not ready for this!"At least with finals week you know when it is going to happen and you some what know what to expect. On the other hand we have those HELL weeks when we have no idea when they are coming and have the slightest clue of what is going to happen. You know what I'm talking about... Whether it be a death in the family or close friend, losing your job, fight with your spouse, bad grade on test(s), getting dumped, car accident, getting sick, and the list can go on. I know I listed some extreme situations but they happen and sometimes a few of these events in the same week. How does one prepare him/herself for such events? Even if we knew when and where these events were to take place, would we prepare differently? Events like these have the potential of changing our lives, both for the good and for the bad. It is up to us to decide how we will be influenced and how will will continue to live. Will we give up or stand steadfast? Will we take the the easy way out or the best way? Will we forgive or get revenge? It is not the events that change our lives but the everyday decisions we make that will shape us for tomorrow.
"Plus que hier, moins que demain," is a quote I will never forget. In English, "More than yesterday, less than tomorrow." Our knowledge is more than what we had yesterday but less than the knowledge we will have tomorrow. Ones love for another is greater today than yesterday but it is less than the love one will have tomorrow. Are you catching my drift? Progression not regression. Well... I feel like I'm blabbering now so I will end this post.
Good luck to all students during Finals week and to all those going through a HELL week.

Introduction

Life is full of adventures. Even those who think their life is boring or just too normal have what I like to call "True Adventures", I call them this because they are not like the one's you see in the movies. Our lives are made of many accomplishments, trials, misfortunes, celebrations, abnormalities, stresses, travels, and much more. Each of our lives are so different but also so similar at the same time. We can learn from others and others can learn from us. Each day we each create history not knowing exactly what will happen and that is what makes life an ADVENTURE.
My blogs will be a record of my "True Adventures". I can be very random at times and can dwell on different subjects. I apologize if I hurt any ones feelings, that is not my intention. Think of it more as a Journal entry. Sounds boring doesn't it? I will try to keep things interesting as much as possible. Feel free to e-mail me with questions or topic ideas to blog about.
